If you are a newly-qualified therapist , and want to work at a time and place that suits your life, with the aim to have a five-figure income, then you’ve come to the right place!
If you are disappointed at the lack of counselling jobs, or frustrated at the culture of volunteering that our profession has, then you’ve come to the right place.
Are you fit for private practice?
I spent years wanting to be a Counsellor, and I spent hundreds of hours and thousands of £s to achieve my goal. I completed my training and I started applying for jobs. And there weren’t many vacancies, and then when I did get an interview, mainly with the NHS, the job wasn’t really using my hard-earned counselling skills and knowledge. I was required to retrain (sometimes paying for the training) and follow, what seemed to me, a tick box process.
I was still working in my old ‘life’ and getting despondent of ever making a living from the job I had wanted for the longest time. And after a particularly trying time at work, I had my light-bulb moment. I could start in private practice.
Which turned out to take far longer than I thought, and involved various problems and required a new set of knowledge and skills.
You can benefit from my research and experience to be on the way to your private practice. I will help you decided if you are fit for private practice.
If you are fit to take the next steps, I will provide detailed, step by step, training to guide you through the process.
And if you’re not ready – I can help you there too.
As a trainer with 20 years plus experience, I have often supported colleagues and Supervisees with their Continuing Professional Development (CPD). And many of them have suggested that I share more widely. So here I am.
I am a regular contributer to Online Events, experienced at delivering online training and webinars and all of this I bring together in my own training.
I am a Counsellor and Supervisor and all the training is tailored to counsellors.
Training is delivered online and you can progress at a pace to suit you. I am available for email support. I am based in the UK and offer UK training for UK therapists.
One thing I missed very much was the peer support of the other students on my course, and I include group support in my Independent Counsellor training.
Courses will be launched in September 2019.
